Pre-Toddler and Toddler Classes
This program is for children who are under the age of two at the beginning of the school year. These children are exposed to stimulating and developmentally appropriate activities for their age in a nurturing and caring environment. The activities provided help to develop the children’s musical awareness, creative movement, social skills, cognitive learning, and physical skills. Each class has two teachers with 8 – 10 children, depending on the age of the children.
The Developmental Program is designed to enhance those skills that are newly emerging in the young child two years of age, emphasizing gross motor development; eye-hand coordination skills; perceptual development; auditory and visual discrimination skills; cognitive development; and social and emotional development.
Preschool and Pre-K Classes
Preschool classes are for children 3 and 4 years of age. They are center based with hands-on activities promoting social and emotional, physical, and spiritual development. Children interact in a wide variety of centers focusing on blocks, dramatic play, books, art, “Handwriting Without Tears”, science, large motor activities, sensory activities, math activities, etc., to promote skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creative expression, social communication, cooperation with peers, etc.
Junior Kindergarten Classes
The Junior Kindergarten is a class offered to children who will be eligible for kindergarten, but whose parents are electing for them to wait another year before attending. This class, which is center based, provides hands-on experiences that are uniquely challenging to five year olds who are growing in confidence, maturity, responsibility, and sociability. The class meets five mornings a week.
Early Morning Drop-off
Early Morning Drop-off offers child care from 7:30 a.m. until 8:55 a.m., at which time the children are taken to their classroom. This program is available five mornings a week for children enrolled in Developmental 1 through Jr. Kindergarten.
Fun day is a mixed age group environment that offers care for children who are not eligible for 5 day morning classes. Fun day is offered Monday through Friday from 9:00-12:00 and provides a flexible “drop-in” option for families who may not need additional care on a weekly basis as well as those needing it each day.
